Kamloops
Rita's Garden

They said the best medicine comes from the earth. Believe me, they were telling the truth. Occasionally we face a challenge in our life wherein we have to draw deep within ourselves to make us better. This happened to me a few years ago, and moving to Kamloops BC and starting a garden was the best medicine for my soul.

I remember starting the rudabechias from seed and wondering if they were going to take. Then I decided to have a fence first with sunflowers, then with the cosmos and finally the rudebekia. My neighbours across the way enjoyed the flowering fence.

The mornings in my outdoor living room staring at the clear blue sky and feeling the crisp clean air reminded me to be thankful again.

I've always wanted to live in front of the river or ocean. The view is always changing and the images on the reflection of the water is always tantalizing. Regardless, the garden, the outdoor living room, the riverfront and yes, even the beautiful weeds healed my hurting soul.
