A garden delight inherited on Dagmar Street, Toronto.

Since at least 1940, this house on Jones at Dagmar has been a delight for all who pass by. Once a Candy Store, then a home to a women who had two husbands.

We purchased the house in 2001. It never stops blooming! Each season is beautiful! From the time the first snow falls, Until the earliest Spring, which is late march to April. Only 3 months without plant growth! In Toronto. I think we are a zone 6 ?

We continue to up-keep the plant traditions, and have planted trees or shrubs each year. Daffodils, crocuses and tulips are also planted. When we moved in to the old place, most of house was in disrepair.

Our neighbors still stop today, I think gratefully, to say how lovely it looks, or just to say hello. It is so rewarding keeping this oasis of plant life, with all it's traditional, time honored roses, mint and succulents, into today's vibrance of lilies and hostas.

I believe this is a rare example of an 'all year round bloom' for an East end home.
